Position Summary

This part-time, paid internship helps support and assist the Retail Operations and Retail Warehouse in various areas of retail merchandising and system support for the Minnesota Wild Hockey Lodge Retail Operations including customer service, product display/merchandising, fulfillment to stores and inventory control to help maximize retail sales revenues and operational efficiencies assuring a quality fan and customer retail experience. 

Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Support and assist with inventory controls at the Hockey Lodge Warehouse and Stores
  • Assist with all retail product including sales and on-hand inventory reporting, customer database maintenance, new SKU set-ups, product displays and presentations
  • Collaborate with merchandising team to set-up or create in-store displays
  • Assist Manager of Retail Operations with customer service calls and inquiries with retail and web customers
  • Assist with the day-to-day operations in the retail department, and work at Hockey Lodge retail stores
  • Assist with various day-to-day operations at Hockey Lodge Warehouse
  • Work on special assignments or projects as it relates to functionality and merchandising, data management and operational processes
  • Other duties or tasks as assigned

Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree (or current junior/senior level) or equivalent with emphasis in merchandising, retail management, business operations or similar field required
  • Degree program with major or emphasis in merchandising, retail management, business operations or similar field

Knowledge & Experience

  • Excellent organization skills with demonstrated ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple tasks or projects
  • Ability to work well independently within a team and service oriented environment
  • Experience with a business social media account  
  • Attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer in an office as well as in a retail warehouse setting
  • Ability to respond to inbound/outbound calls and emails
  • Proficient computer skills with ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel,Outlook, and Photoshop

Work Conditions

  • Ability to work now through the 2017-2018 Wild hockey season
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings based on facility events, functions and workload for an average of 20 hours/week
  • Physical ability to lift at least 50 pounds, with frequent stairs
  • Ability to perform the following actions: lifting, reaching, stooping, standing, bending, crouching, walking.
