Position Summary: The Network Administrator is responsible for all aspects of the LAN/WAN network, voice systems, and WiFi including installing, planning, design and maintenance of corporate data systems and will report to the Information Technology Director.

Major Responsibilities/Job Duties

  • Monitors and maintains network documentation, network material and supply inventories.
  • Responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and management reporting of communications network problems.
  • Utilizes software and hardware network management tools for problem isolation and resolution.
  • Continue to assist in the design and build of core voice and data infrastructure.
  • Extend the capabilities of our current network to accommodate our future growth, qualify and implement new equipment from our vendors, and recommend solutions to issues that arise
  • Provide technical services and support for the following areas, WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls (Checkpoint), and security, internal systems, cloud and network infrastructure.
  • Work with the business side to understand their objectives and account for them in the system design.
  • Work with internal and external 3rd party vendors i.e. software and systems engineering teams to understand and implement technical requirements.
  • Configure and manage DHCP, access-lists, and VLANs.
  • Configure and manage OSPF and BGP protocols.
  • Configure and troubleshoot vmware virtualized network components.
  • Plan  and design network upgrades and additions
  • Develop, implement and maintain alert notification policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and optimize existing networks and improve network documentation.
  • Maintain procedures and where applicable work to improve and document new procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining the 24x7 operation of the network infrastructure.
  • Apply a proactive approach to infrastructure support.
  • Communicate effectively with all personnel and ensure information is accurately disseminated.
  • Support the planning, configuration, and implementation of reliable, Cisco voice infrastructure
  • Implement and support IT standards at the base level (cabling / desktops / printers).
  • Work directly with the Helpdesk and Systems Admin to assist with other projects.
  • Work directly with vendors defining requirements and ensuring that the bases are getting the appropriate support.
  • Diagnose and resolve end-user network or local printer problems, e-mail, Internet, VPN, and local-area network access problems.
  • Coordinate timely repair of Network computer equipment. This includes working with various vendors.
  • Help install local area network cabling systems and equipment such as network interface cards, hubs and switches.
  • Act as a critical part of the IT team, leading by example is absolutely critical.
  • Provides information technology support for events.
  • Evaluate vendor products in hardware, software, and telecommunications equipment and recommend purchases consistent with the organization's short and long term objectives.
  • Recommend and implement LAN policies and standards and ensures adherence to security procedures.
  • Perform troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair/fix for network hardware and software related problems.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Systems, or other related scientific or technical discipline or equivalent experience is required.
  • Work experience or industry certifications demonstrating technical proficiency may be substituted for education requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and organization skills.
  • Possess strong working knowledge of design & implementation experience for data networking, routing & switching, subnetting and network segmenting with large scale enterprise network.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of Network Infrastructure and topology, LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Network Monitoring tools.
  • Self-motivated with enthusiasm and ability to develop technical skills and take on additional responsibilities in order to add value to departmental and Company's mission and goals.
  • VOIP Engineering experience a plus.
  • Checkpoint Experience.
  • Strong Cisco background.
  • Manage telecommunications, including Call Manager Cluster & Unity.
  • Manage Barracuda Appliances.
  • Manage CISCO Switches and firewalls to include ACLs (Access Control Lists), Site to site VPN Tunnels, Segmented Network data with VLANs for efficiency and security.
  • Current CCNA, CCNP or other Cisco related certifications strongly preferred.
  • Desire to grow as an IT professional and learn a large number of technologies.
  • Ability to cross-train in all IT areas.
  • Ability to work independently and have good judgment.
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to exercise extreme confidentiality and discretion on a daily basis.
  • As a condition of employment, qualified applicant will be subject to a background check, including a criminal history check and character references.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, possess a suitable driving history and be insurable by Club’s insurance carrier.

Essential Physical Functions:

  • Occasional lifting heavy equipment and materials (up to 100 pounds), balancing, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent sitting, carrying, walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity.
  • Must be able to work in venue catwalks and lifts to perform IT related tasks.
