Position Summary: The Systems Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining operating system workstations and mission servers, in support of business processing requirements.

Major Responsibilities/Job Duties

  • Perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
  • Schedule installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and tune the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
  • Ensure workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
  • Ensure data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
  • Develop and promote standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Coordinate disk space planning and management.
  • Maintain growth statistics, space forecasts, and software and hardware inventories.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation.
  • Monitor and maintain continuity with system software licensing and maintenance agreements.
  • Conduct Active Directory (AD) Organizational Unit (OU) administration
  • Administer all Windows, Linux, Ubuntu, Vsphere Virtual, and other server systems
  • Manage Internet-facing systems, including IIS and other related systems
  • Implement and manage storage systems, including SAN and NAS devices
  • Ensure that storage, archiving, backup and recovery procedures are functioning correctly.
  • Implement and manage disaster recovery of system data, operating system software, data integrity and virus protection of the servers, the clients and the network.
  • Administer Cisco VoIP phone system; assign and configure IP phones.
  • Administer and perform maintenance on workstations as needed.
  • Responsible for automation of support processes and documentation of company systems.
  • Perform problem resolution and provide 24-hour on-call support for computer/network systems.
  • Create a library of system documentation; provide training for team members and interns.
  • Implement integrated hardware and software computer and information systems to meet organizational requirements.
  • Provide windows server systems administration, installation, problem isolation and resolution.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of IT procedures, system configuration standards, maintenance and upgrades.
  • Implement and support IT standards at the base level (cabling / desktops / printers).
  • Work directly with the Helpdesk and Systems Admin to assist with other projects.
  • Install, configure, and maintain database management system.
  • Support events at Bridgestone Arena, including, but not limited to hockey games, concerts, and shows.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Diploma from a technical or vocational school or an equivalent military/DoD training.
  • Four year Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Systems, or other related scientific or technical discipline is preferred.
  • Work experience or industry certifications demonstrating technical proficiency may be substituted for education requirements.
  • Five (5) or more years of progressive experience providing IT implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance support in a Windows server farm environment.
  • Active Directory (AD) Organizational Unit (OU) administration
  • Experience in PowerShell scripting, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, etc.
  • Knowledge of overall networking technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
  • Experience maintaining, monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning database management system.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of security in reference to networks and server systems and proven technical skills with protocols.
  • Familiar with system management and deployment tools such as Nagios, and Spiceworks.
  • Knowledge of enterprise technology infrastructure areas including: LAN/Server, email systems (Exchange)
  • Windows operating systems, Non-Windows operating systems (Linux, Ubuntu, Mac, Unix), Internet/Web technologies, Virtualization technologies, SAN/Storage technologies, Backup technologies, Database technologies (MySQL, MS SQL)
  • Possess a complete understanding of Microsoft Servers 2008-2016, Windows 7/8/10 operating systems, VMware ESX Server and Virtual Center, VEEAM Backup, Microsoft Cloud products.
  • Possess a high level of initiative and be a self-starter, self-directed, highly motivated and able to work with minimal direction in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly analytical thinking with demonstrated talent for identifying, scrutinizing, improving, and streamlining complex work processes.
  • Innovative problem-solver who can generate workable solutions and resolve complaints.
  • Possess outstanding interpersonal communications skills to effectively interface with guests and/or team members, including

  • Ability to exercise extreme confidentiality and discretion on a daily basis.
  • As a condition of employment, qualified applicant will be subject to a background check, including a criminal history check and character references.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, possess a suitable driving history and be insurable by Club’s insurance carrier.

Essential Physical Functions:

  • Occasional lifting heavy equipment and materials (up to 100 pounds), balancing, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent sitting, carrying, walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity.
  • Must be able to work in venue catwalks and lifts to perform IT related tasks.
