The Guest Services Security serves as the first point of contact for anyone entering 317 On Rice Park, home of the Minnesota Wild Hockey Club, during non-business hours.  The position works weekend evenings and provides coverage on holidays and scheduled vacations. Employees in this position are to ensure the personal safety of those working in and attending events at “317 On Rice Park” and to provide protection for the building and property.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Greet and assist all visitors in 317 On Rice Park, including guests attending events, as well as clients, vendors, visitors, and other business partners 
  • Validate employees entering 317 On Rice Park
  • Perform periodic checks and inspections of 317 On Rice Park
  • Ensure appropriate security and safety policies are maintained during functions held at 317 On Rice Park
  • Coordinate and communicate security issues with RiverCentre security office
  • When requested, escort staff  to vehicles in ramps 
  • Report any unusual situations or events to Senior Facility Manager
  • Ability to enforce policies in a polite and tactful manner, but able to be direct when necessary
  • Perform general administrative duties as requested
  • Maintain a professional, neat and orderly work space and lobby area
  • Respond to requests for assistance from MSE staff and visitors for a variety of security issues (fire, medical emergencies, etc.) as well as responding to fire notification alarms
  • Receive and record shipments and notify appropriate party of the arrival
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

  • Minimum of 1 year security work or similar experience
  • Proven dependability
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer service job experience preferred

Knowledge & Experience

  • First aid and/or CPR certification preferred
  • Basic computer skills

  • Neat and professional appearance
  •  Proven ability to use good judgment and work independently

Work Conditions

  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check
  • Ability to work as needed on nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to sit at desk for extended periods of time with some flexibility of standing.  Some physical requirements include sitting, walking, walking up and down stairs, standing, bending, squatting, twisting, lifting, grasping, etc.
